What we look for

If your roof is doing any of this, get it looked at.

Four signs a roof is failing. One on its own is worth an inspection. Two or more together usually means water is already getting in.

  • Missing or lifted shingles

Gaps in the pattern, or tabs curling up at the edges after a windstorm.

  • Hail bruising and granule loss

Dark pockmarks on the shingle, and granules collecting in your gutters.

  • Stains on ceilings or in the attic

Brown rings on a ceiling, or daylight and damp decking overhead.

  • Gaps at flashing and vents

Separation where the roof meets a chimney, wall, or vent pipe.

Why it happens here

Most roof damage starts out of sight.

A roof fails from the top down, and the parts that fail first are the parts you cannot see from the driveway.

  • After a storm

Damage you cannot see from the ground

Hail bruises the mat under the granules and wind breaks the seal between shingles. From the driveway the roof still looks fine.

  • Year after year

    The roof stops shedding water

Granules wash away, seals fail and flashing opens up. Water finds the decking, and by the time it stains a ceiling it has been there a while.

  • Gulf Coast weather

Houston is hard on a roof

Heat, humidity, hail and hurricane season all work on the same shingles. Roofs here age faster than the number printed on the box.

By the time a stain shows up on a ceiling, water has usually been getting in for a while. Documenting it properly is what decides whether a claim covers the entire roof or only a patch. Where the claim stops, or where there is no claim at all, zero down financing picks it up, so the roof goes on when it needs to rather than when the money arrives.

Before you book

The questions people actually ask.

Is the inspection really free?

Yes. The on-site inspection, the photo damage report and the written estimate cost you nothing, and there is no obligation to book work afterward. We would rather tell you the roof has years left than sell you one you do not need.

Am I going to get a pushy sales pitch?

No. We photograph the roof, walk you through what we found, and leave you the report. Taking time to think or getting another opinion is a completely normal thing to do with a roof. We do not do same-day pressure.

What does a new roof cost in Houston?

It depends on the size and pitch of the roof, the material, and how much decking underneath needs replacing. You get the number in writing after the inspection rather than a guess over the phone, and financing is available with nothing due upfront.

Do you handle insurance claims?

Yes. Storm and hail damage is documented with photographs in the format adjusters expect, which is what decides whether a claim covers the whole roof or a section of it. We can meet your adjuster at the property.

How long does a replacement take?

Most residential roofs are finished in one to two days depending on size and weather. Crews protect landscaping, and the site is cleaned including a magnet sweep for nails before they leave.

Do you do commercial buildings?

Yes. Alongside houses we work on retail, office and industrial buildings, plus apartments and hotels, and schedule that work around occupancy so tenants and guests are not displaced.
